South African players agree to sign Player Terms Agreements

The UCBSA is pleased to confirm that South African players who have been chosen to represent South Africa in the ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka this month have agreed, through their players' association, to sign the necessary Player Terms Agreements.
Agreement was reached between the UCB and the South African Players' Association at a meeting between UCB CEO Gerald Majola and SACA CEO Tony Irish in Cape Town today.
"We took up the negotiations where we left off last week, and continued to discuss the items that were on the table then. We have reached agreement on those issues and I am pleased to confirm that South Africa will send its best-available team to the ICC Champions Trophy and that the players have agreed to sign the Player Terms Agreements," said Majola. He added that there remained some outstanding issues to be discussed on the team's return from Sri Lanka and that negotiations would continue. "The agreement also incorporates the ICC's resolution on Saturday that in future players and their representatives will be consulted for the drafting of similar contracts," he added.
