A superb 127-ball hundred from Man of the Series Mahanama crushed New Zealand's hopes of leaving Sri Lanka with a win. Put in to bat, Mahanama and Gurusinha shared 166 for the second wicket. A total of 262 from 49 overs was much the best of the series. Despite a brave effort, especially from Harris, New Zealand were all out for 231 in the final over. They left for home early next day.
