5 Number of times before this New Zealand have had three spinners bowl at least 15 overs each in the first innings of a Test. Mitchell Santner, Mark Craig and Ish Sodhi have sent down 20, 24 and 15 overs respectively so far in India's innings. The last such instance and the only other one since 1973 was in Sharjah in 2014 when Daniel Vettori, Craig and Sodhi bowled 19, 27.4 and 22 overs respectively. This is also the first time since the Chennai Test in 1992-93 that three spinners from outside the subcontinent have each bowled 15 or more overs in the first innings of a Test in India.
