Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club is pleased to announce that Chris Tolley has been appointed as Cricket Development Officer responsible for the identification and development of future generations of professional cricketers through plans to create a Regional Academy.
The 32-year-old all-rounder will commence his new role on November 6 but will continue to be registered with the ECB as a Nottinghamshire player for the 2001 season.
Chris takes over from former wicketkeeper Lyndsay Walker who recently left Trent Bridge to take up the position as national coach in Malaysia.
Nottinghamshire's Cricket Chairman Mr Stuart Foster said: "The club is delighted that Chris has accepted this challenging role. With the development of the Radcliffe Road complex, Trent Bridge provides some of the best coaching facilities in the world and we are proud of the fact that we have developed a strong squad of young cricketers who are representing England at their respective age levels."
"We believe Chris is the ideal person to develop the next generation of Nottinghamshire players."
"While his primary role will be to lead the elite development, he will remain as a registered cricketer for the 2001 season to ensure we have the depth of squad required to build on the success of last season when we were promoted to Division One of the National Cricket League. We wish him every success in his new role."
