Inspired by fellow Victorian and Australian Shane Warne as a child, Wareham also became a World Cup hero for her country in the T20 format. Having established herself as Australia's first-choice female legspinner in 2018 she starred in the 2018 T20 World Cup triumph in the Caribbean, taking 2 for 11 in the final against England and producing a vital direct hit run out. Two years later in Australia's T20 World Cup triumph on home soil, she played a pivotal part in the pool stage taking 3 for 17 against New Zealand to ensure Australia qualified for the semi-final. Wareham grew up in Mortlake, two-and-half hours west of Melbourne, and learned the game playing with her brother Jordan in the backyard. She developed playing men's cricket in the district before moving into Victoria's elite pathway system and playing for Melbourne Renegades in the WBBL.
