Not much Sams could do with that as Dwarshuis finds one of those tricky spots on this Showground deck. Ballooned off the bat as he fended out in front, safely taken by Vince inside the ring. 93/6

Beats the bat on the inside, and it's umpire's call on the top of middle stump! Golden duck for Hales in his final Thunder Nation appearance of BBL 2022-23. 7/1 3.4 to O Davies, that's plumb! Davies departs for a duck now, no thought of a review after being kippered by one that stayed a touch low... Hit on the back pad as the ball came in past the defensive prod. Another lbw for Abbott, who has been relentless so far tonight. 12/3 19.1 to CJ Green, picks out long-on! Green attempts to go down the ground but can't get enough elevation on a cross-batted swipe and it's a simple catch for the sub fielder, Jack Edwards, on the rope. 130/8 Photos

Gilkes got a good stride across looking to pre-meditate a sweep to get off strike, but has been hit just in line. And it's three reds on Hawk-Eye! Green with the breakthrough for Sydney green. 14/1 3.6 to KR Patterson, dragged down, and hoicked to deep midwicket! Patterson connects well but sends it straight to the man stationed out there. Green has a second and Thunder are rumbling at the close of this powerplay. 25/3
