Jacks, Sam Curran combine to deny Sussex last-eight berth

Blistering 58-ball century, allied to figures of 4 for 18, prove enough for South Group's dominant force

Surrey 204 for 5 (Jacks 100) beat Sussex 197 for 7 (Hughes 75, Clark 41, Coles 39, S Curran 4-18) by seven runs.
Will Jacks, with a magnificent 58-ball century, and Sam Curran and Chris Jordan, with some canny late bowling, inspired Surrey to their 11th victory in 14 Vitality Blast games and snuffed out Sussex hopes of winning the last quarter-final berth from the South Group.
Jacks powered three sixes and a dozen boundaries as he put on 65 for the first wicket with Ryan Patel and then 97 with Jason Roy as Surry scaled the 200 mark with a last ball six from Tom Curran over long-off off Tymal Mills.

Farhan five-for, Moores pyrotechnics claim spoils for Notts

Lancashire collapse to 126 all out but had already guaranteed their place in quarter-finals

Nottinghamshire 127 for 6 (Moores 75) beat Lancashire 126 (Farhan 5-25) by four wickets
A hat-trick and a maiden white-ball five-wicket bag for 17-year-old Notts prodigy Farhan Ahmed, who last season became the youngest player in first-class cricket in Britain to have taken ten wickets in a match, helped bowl out Lancashire for 126 in the Vitality Blast at Trent Bridge.
But Notts were soon struggling to cope themselves with a turning pitch as England slow left-armer Tom Hartley claimed two men in the reply's second over and at 14 for 4 after 17 balls the modest target seemed far distant. At which point Tom Moores, in wonderful batting form all campaign, arrived to pass an outstanding fifty from only 23 balls en route to claiming the match.
