Ben Mike, a seam bowler also capable of useful runs, graduated from Leicestershire's Academy, signing his first professional contract in August 2018. During that summer, Mike made his List A debut for the club against India A, played in a two-day tourist match against Pakistan, and also excelled for the Second XI. That made late-season Championship opportunities inevitable and he responded with 19 wickets at 20.26 in four games.

His debut brought 9 for 94 against Sussex at Hove, where he impressed with his action and pace racing down the hill. The following year he made 72 in two-and-a-half hours - his maiden first-class fifty - while on loan at Warwickshire, and the power of his batting was evident during the 2020 Vitality Blast, as Mike's last-ball six sealed victory over Yorkshire and kept Leicestershire on track for a quarter-final spot. In 2022, he signed for Yorkshire on a three-year deal.
