10:44pm That will be all from us for this game. We will be back tomorrow with more BBL action, and there is a bit of cricket lined up in what remains of today too. All of that can be accessed and found on ESPNcricinfo. Until next time, from all of us here, it is goodbye!

David Warner, Player of the Match: It was tough to lose two early wickets. On this pitch, if you hang in there, you can put up a good score. One of those games where you felt one of them (Ward or Owen) was going to go off, and both did, unfortunately for us. (On losing two early wickets) You have to back yourself, grind it out and on a true surface, you can actually give yourself time. We are trying to work out how to go in the first four. Nice surface here but we, as a group, need to work out how to go about it. They (Hurricanes) have chased well in the last couple of years. Credit to him (Owen). He was a bit stiller tonight and for his sake, hope he can keep doing it (moving forward). We have played one complete game. Back to basics, starting well with bat and ball. High morale still in the group. We are up and about, just not winning.

10:38pm At the half-way stage, it felt the Hurricanes would have their work cut out. It turned out to be anything but that. Ward thrilled those watching with a breathtaking display of stroke-play, with Owen doing something very similar at the other end. Both missed out on their respective milestones (a hundred and a fifty) but their early onslaught knocked the stuffing out of the hosts.

From that point, the Thunder were playing catch-up. Their execution and planning also left a bit to be desired, and they now have some serious thinking to do, especially with time running out for a playoff charge.

Green to Wade, FOUR runs

there it is - a 200-plus run-chase completed with the minimal of fuss! Slanted in on a length on middle stump. Wade walks across, snaps down on the sweep and helps it into the long leg fence. An incredible run-chase, and the Hurricanes have barely broken a sweat to accomplish it!

Jake: "Half tracker/short on leg stump getting flogged for 4/6 must be the most popular ball of the Thunder pace bowlers."

top effort! Half-tracker on leg stump. Wade picks it up and thumps it flat towards deep backward square leg. Konstas flings out his right palm but cannot make it stick. Has to then sprawl to his right to save the boundary and is unable to do that too!

Agar to Chaudhary, FOUR runs

Chaudhary is in a hurry! Short ball straying onto the hips. Chaudhary uses the angle and whips it away past deep backward square leg!

Muntasir: "With most of the bowlers going at 11-13 in this pitch Rishad and greens effort really standout. Rishad had warner dropped on the first over as well!"

Sams to McDermott, OUT

oh Ben McDermott, what have you done?! Full ball sliding down leg and this is there to be hit. McDermott could have hit it anywhere too but all he does in the end is pick out short fine leg. McDermott cannot believe it. Sams knows he has gotten away with one, and the Thunder are just inching their way back into the contest!
