nope, sorry lads, Jenkins swings hard at slower ball and heaves it to long-on and NSW are through to the Super Eights!
NSW vs Sussex, 6th Match, Group B at Delhi, Oct 11 2009 - Ball by Ball Commentary
NSW managed only 130 but the game was quite one-sided. Professional performance in the field by NSW. The bowlers were disciplined and didn't allow any partnerships to develop. Sussex needed at least one player to drop anchor but nobody really looked comfortable. Had Smith played a blinder of a cameo things could have been different.
Here's the presentation.
Henriques is the Man of the Match: "We have to stay flexible in the batting order. I just tried to play on the front foot."
Joyce: "We didn't hit enough boundaries. We will be looking at out batting line-up in the next game against Eagles."
Katich: "our top order did a fantastic, Steve Smith was outstanding, Lee was fabulous. We wanted to make sure we had our left-right combination correct throughout."
That's it from us for now. Delhi take on Wayamba at 8pm, which is 50 minutes from now. Join us for that as well. Thanks for your company. Cheers guys.
Can Sussex make it to 100?
slower ball and he mows it down to long-on
clean hit! Should have had more of those, Keegan waits for that short delivery, picks the length early before clubbing it down to deep midwicket
fires a full toss outside off and he swings hard and nearly loses his stumps
makes room and thumps it down to mid-off
pitches it up on middle and leg, chipped down to deep midwicket
fired on the stumps and squired to the on side
and again he tries to paddle it, misses it, nothing shot really
oh well, slower ball outside off and he tries to paddle it down to fine leg, makes no contact and the ball trickles to the keeper
the slower bouncer, not exactly a bouncer because it dipped so quickly before reaching the keeper
full and swinging in on the stumps, he squeezes it out back to the bowler
full outside off and jammed out to the covers
full outside off and jammed out to the off side
well taken! Hodd chips down the track and tries to take him downtown, the ball is skied for a while and appears headed over the long-on rope but Smith cups it above his head just inches in front of the rope, times his jump well and maintains his balance
strays down the leg side and he makes room across his stumps and gently paddles it wide of short fine leg
slow through the air, he tries to force it through the on side but the ball trickles to the on side
the bounce this time sails over Hodd's back and umpire Hazare penalises the bowler
