When the Lightning lost their whole top order with only 51 on the board, it always felt that the Knights were in control of the game. They always knew that they batted along way down the order, but they left themselves too much to do.
Tucker hit an excellent 72 off only 57 balls, but didn't get the support that he needed to get the home team close to the win. Some big hitting from McCarthy at the end, certainly cheered up the home fans, but didn't seem like changing who was winning.
Rock marshalled his bowlers well in his first game as Knights Captain and all the bowlers ended up with wickets. Foster finishing with three of them off his 5.3 overs.
Luckily for the Knights, they managed to keep the Lightning under 253 and pick up an extra bonus point for the win, which means that they join the Warriors at the top of the table after their bonus point win yesterday.
Coming into this game, the Knights were certainly the underdogs, didn't have their Irish International players, lost their Captain before play began and still ended up as the winners. Isn't cricket a great sport?
Neil Rock has just been named the player of the match for his excellent 87 in the Knights Innings. Capping off an excellent day.
