When the Knights lost their third wicket with only 61 runs on the board, you felt that the game could have gone either way. Yet an excellent 87 run partnership between Carmichael and Topping settled their nerves.
Once Carmichael fell, Topping came into his own to hit a run a ball 92. It was an excellent Innings and has to put him in with a chance of winnings player of the match.
A few late wickets were more the Knights getting themselves out rather then the Reds creating any pressure, although McCarthy did finish with four wickets.
The Knights pick up four points for the win and move clear at the top of the table and it's just been announced that Morgan Topping is the player of the match.
It's been a great game of cricket here at a sunlit Stormont today, a game that will live long in the memory, even if it was just for the weather. The interpros move to Bready tomorrow, and I've been promised it will be sunny.
