Drama in Mirpur!! We have a tie here. Marufa bowls a length ball outside off, Meghna goes for a lazy cut and gets an outside edge to keeper. Batters are not happy with that being given out. Did she actually nick this or not?
BAN Women vs IND Women, 3rd ODI at Dhaka, Championship [W], Jul 22 2023 - Match Result
That's it from us today. What a day, what a series it's been! Hope you all enjoyed our coverage. I am Srinidhi Ramanujam signing off on behalf of S Sudarshanan and Sudeep Poojar. Stay hydrated, and take care.
Harmanpreet Kaur, the India captain: "I think a lot of learning for us from the game. Even apart from the cricket, the kind of umpiring that was happening we were very surprised. The next time when we come to Bangladesh we will make sure we have to deal with this type of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly.
"They (Bangladesh) batted really well, batted according to the situation. They were taking those singles which were very crucial. In between we leaked a few runs but when we were batting, we controlled the game very well but as I mentioned earlier some pathetic umpiring was done and we are really disappointed about some decisions given by the umpires.
"My hand is fine. She [Harleen] looked very promising in the last game, so we promoted her to bat freely and she took the opportunity with both hands. Jemi was really good throughout the innings. She played that crucial innings for us. Good game, lot of learnings and lastly our High Commission from India is also there and I hope you could have invited him here, but that is also fine. And thank you sir for coming here."
Nigar Sultana: "Obviously, it was a great match, getting great experience. It will help us, when we won the toss, we wanted to put on 230 runs, happy Pinky got a century. At the end of day, we always think we are short of 5-10 runs. The way the girls fought, it was unbelievable. After the break, we were talking about the two ways the game would go - either we will go hard on them or they will. Nahida bowled really well. To all the bowlers, it was an excellent performance.
We are looking forward to carrying this moment. As a batting unit we collapse usually, but from here, we can have many takeaways moving forward. Crows have been amazing throughout the tournament. "
Fargana Hoque, Player of the Series: "At the start of the tournament I felt I was in good flow and I was getting off to good starts. All my team-mates always say if someone will score a century, it will be Pinky [her nickname]. The plan was that if I batted long, we could get to 230. My hundred didn't matter, the team getting runs was important. I was just playing from ball to ball. I love to bat. It was a great opportunity for me so I was just very happy to take it. My friends and family have always supported me and that's why I am being able to bat like this. And not just me, there are many good batters in the team who can do better than me."
Harleen Deol is the Player of the Match: "Actually it was a good wicket to bat on. Initially we were struggling because we didn't know the conditions that well. We were ahead of the game and we got out and then the game turned. Game plan was the same as last game - our players got settled [in the last game], so Harry di went to bat. Today, we lost early wickets so I came in to bat. A lot of confidence comes in after a good knock. Want to take it forward."
5.35pm: Okay, we DON'T have a Super Over because the "scheduled time is done", informs the commentator on official broadcast. India and Bangladesh will share the trophy. That is some end to this intense series! India were 191 for 4 to lose their next five wickets for 34 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues was stranded on the other end after Harleen Deol's 77 and Smriti Mandhana's 59 as India kept losing wickets regularly in the final ten overs. Nahida Akther's two wickets - of Devika and Rana - in three balls in the 48th over turned the game around for Bangladesh. They came very close to beating India but should be proud of their stunning comeback.
Earlier, Fargana Hoque entered record books for notching up her maiden ODI hundred, en route she also became the first centurion from Bangladesh in women's one-day international. This helped Bangladesh post a competitive 225 for 4 on a spin-friendly surface in Mirpur.
