slower ball outside off and it's pulled straight to midwicket for an easy catch
Afghanistan vs Netherlands, 2nd Match, Group B at Edinburgh, Jul 09 2015 - Match Result
5.25pm That's a big and confident win for Afghanistan after they lost two early wickets. The batsmen did turn it around, before Dawlat and Sharafuddin Ashraf made sure Netherlands never got comfortable for a substantial time int he chase. Kept chipping in with the wickets and their fielding complemented that well, too.
Ashraf is Man of the Match: Senior players gave me a lot of confidence that I could do it so I want to thank ACB and selectors. This surface was very good for spin and I just bowled line and length. I was also surprised to bowl two no balls, I have never done that.
Peter Borren: 160 is always a touch a chase and our middle order didn't finish off. You have to give credit to Afghanistan and Najib hit the ball so clean, everything that was pitched up was flying. We know we have a good team and we'll learn from what went wrong today. We batted well in the Powerplay after that they outplayed us.
Asghar Stanikzai: Good start for us. First over the ball was seaming so we started slowly. Hamid is fit now which is a good sign for us, we set them a good target.
That's all from the first day of the tournament, do join us again tomorrow for more matches. Until then, goodbye and good luck!
