short and wide, cut to the sweeper for one to end a highly dissatisfying match. Could have been so much closer at the end but some lack of intent and bizarre batting ended the math well before the official end
India A vs SA A, 6th Match at Chennai, Aug 13 2015 - Match Result
4.30pm So India A are through to the finals after winning this game. They set SA a challenging 372, but SA got off to a brilliant start. Quinton de Kock and Cameron Delport played fluently and put South Africa in a dominating position. However, Reeza Hendricks and Cody Chetty's bizarre partnership was poles apart. They did not look at the boundaries consistently enough and ended what could have been an entertaining match much before than expected.
Dane Vilas: Very difficult to chase this total, but a much better performance from the guys today. Lots of positives to take into the four-day matches. We were expecting the pitches to be slower and lower, but they were good throughout.
Unmukt Chand: Happy to be in the finals. We can hopefully take it into the next match. Important to keep the bowlers fresh and everyone gets a fair opportunity. The pitch was stopping a bit early on.
Mayank Agarwal is the Man of the Match. "My hardwork has paid off, did a lot of long-distance running to help my running between the wickets. Important to repeat the process, I understand my process and hopefully I can repeat that tomorrow."
De Kock: "I haven't changed my technique much in the last few months, maybe the wickets here have been much better."
wild slog again off the flighted delivery, skies it high but lands safely in front of long-on
flight on middle, Vilas uses his feet and meets the ball as it pitches to push to midwicket
pushed through flatter on middle, worked off his pads to midwicket
bowled im this time. Goes across and tries to slog-pull the flighted delivery through deep midwicket but doesn't get nay at on it. The ball spins past the heave and takes the off bail
full on middle, lofted beautifully and powerfully well over long-on for yet another six. Got under that quite easily too.
geoff: "not like an SA side to go down without a fight. QDK and Delport must be livid"
Irfaan: "What a waste ... what's the use of ending with 5 wickets in hand ... they had nothing to lose in the last 10 overs with SIX wickets in hand"
wide outside off, cut in front of point
another short delivery, another six. Zondo gets down early on one knee and lofts nicely over square leg for six. Goes a a long way too
fuller this time, Zondo looks to pull through square leg but misses. Massive appeal for caught behind but not given.
short again, sitting up for Zondo to smash again. Not as well timed and lands inside the boundary this time
short ball which sits up for Zondo to rock back and smash over midwicket for a massive six. All too late for SA. Good stroke
tosses it up wide outside off, guided down to third man
Captain Unmukt will roll his arm over
fullish outside off, Zondo makes some room and neatly lofts over cover. Picks the gap well over the infield
reverse-sweeps again. Connects nicely again. Gets down early to help the spinning delivery down to the third man boundary
skewed off in the air just wide of the diving short third man. Just out of his reach. Well flighted, and Zondo goes for the heave over cover
Manojkumar Guna: "I remember ICC champions trophy in Nairobi 2002"
conventional sweep in front of square. Some flight from outside off, and Zondo finds the gap well.
reverse-swept nicely. Gets down very early and powerfully sweeps behind short third man
Deepak: "@sushya : T20 WC 2012 in SL"
gets down early to paddle sweep down to fine leg. A bit leg side-ish the line allowing the execution to be easier
Bryden: "Reeza Hendricks batted himself out of contention for a spot in the SA ODI side... no regard whatsoever for the match situation... seemed like a self-indulgent innings to me. Even a run a ball would have been a perfect foil to allow QDK to kick on rather than load him with pressure"
full once more outside off, Vilas drives to mid-off for one.
101 ks, slower full ball on middle stump. Played back onto his body, Vilas picks the ball up and returns it to the bowler
