Knights vs NW Warriors, at Bready, Jun 21 2016 - Ball by Ball Commentary
After 3 days play neither side could fashion a win, maybe the side happiest with this result will be the Leinster Lightning who still sit pretty on top of the Hanley IPC table.
The Knights have batted through most of the day, the Warriors bowlers couldn't get the early breakthrough and the Partnership between McCollum and Shannon seemed to frustrate them.
The Lightning are top on 39 points, Knights have 28 and the Warriors last on 14 points.
We now take a break from the Hanley IPC, the next game will be the return fixture of this game. Starting on the 8th August at Comber.
However we will only have to wait less then 24 hours for the next Inter-provincial game when the Lightning will be visiting Eglinton to take on the Warriors.
Please join me then when the game starts at 5:00pm, until then thanks for following my commentary, this is Justin saying bye from Bready.
its nippy outside off-stump, Nelson looks to defend the ball forward and misses
its outside off-stump and left alone by Nelson
plays the same shot again, this time the Warriors had put Hyatt back down there to stop the boundary
full ball from William, Thompson bends his knees and guides the ball through the slips to the boundary
look to slog sweep the ball, hits the pads and goes down to long leg
Possibly the last over here, they can settle on the draw at 5:30pm
hits the pad and goes into the off-side
gets forward and defends forward
hits the ball in the air down to long-on, lands safe in front of him
the Warriors had moved 6 fielders onto the boundary. Doesn't matter to Thompson as it hits it over the extra cover boundary
drops the ball into the covers and its an easy single in the end
gets forward and defends back down the pitch
guides the ball down to Rankin at point, he mis-fields but they decide against the run
drops the ball in front of point and Thompson calls him through, the throw does hit the non-strikers stumps but Nelson was home
outside off-stump and left
A bit of time wasting going on here, dead balls, tying of shoe laces, fielding moves etc
wide outside off-stump and Nelson leaves the ball alone
drives the ball into the covers and Hunter makes another good stop diving to his left
outside off-stump and Nelson drives the ball into the covers
cuts the ball wide of the cover sweeper, there is a shout of 2 as soon as he hit the ball. Williams stops it on the boundary and gets the ball back in
swings the ball over the top of the square leg boundary, that why Thompson wanted to be on strike
