That's it!!!It's all over!!! full and wide outside the off, Sharma lofts it over extra cover for a boundary.
India Green vs India Red, at Cuttack, Oct 24 2008 - Ball by Ball Commentary
India Red won by 5 wickets (with 7 balls remaining)
India Red win by five wickets!! It was a must-win game for them, and India Green need to win their next match against India Blue tomorrow to survive in the competition.
One thought at the end of the India Green innings that they had enough on the board, but India Red played a more patient game this time, seeing off the early overs where the bowlers had quite a bit of purchase off the wicket. The pitch eased out considerably as the innings progressed, and unlike their performance yesterday where M Vijay kept losing partners at the other end, the India Red batsmen built three crucial partnerships of over 50 runs that helped see them through.
Sharma featured in all three of those partnerships, but the one that took the game away from India Green was his stand of 86 in under ten overs with Abhishek Nayar, who played a wonderful cameo of 34.
India Green will look to improve upon their fielding as there were quite a few overthrows, and some important chances missed that, in the end, contributed to their loss.
Join us tomorrow for a must-win game for India Green, who take on India Blue in Cuttack. Until then, from Siddhartha Talya on the commentary, and Sanjay Murari on the scoring duties, goodbye and goodnight!!
on a good length on middle and leg, Chawla drives it to long on
short and wide outside the leg stump, rightly given a wide
dropped, good length outside the off, Chawla tries to guide it to third man, gets a thin outside edge, and the wicketkeeper Ojha drops a sitter. Thats his second important miss in this game. He missed a stumping off Rohit Sharma that we now know could well prove decisive
Piyush Chawla comes into bat
gone!!!! that was full and wide outside the off stump, Nayar tries to slice it over Pujara at point but fails to get the elevation and is caught!! Nayar is out against the run of play, but has contributed 34 in a potentially match-winning partnership of 86 in less than ten overs
full and just slightly wide outside off, Sharma edges it down to third man
A win from here is a foregone conclusion for India Red
full on middle and leg, Nayar makes room and lofts it over the extra cover fielder for a boundary

full outside the leg stump, Sharma picks the length early and tries to swing it over mid wicket, misses and struck on the pads. The fielders appeal, but the ball clearly pitched outside the leg stump. Amid all the chaos, the batsmen take two leg byes
full outside the off stump, dug out to the covers
Thats a Dougie Marillier shot!!! pitched full on middle and off, Sharma shuffles across and paddles it to the fine leg boundary
short of good length on the off and angling in towards middle, Nayar gets outside the line to defend but is rapped on the pads, the batsmen scramble a leg bye.
