and T&T are through with a dominant performance, the final ball of the game is blocked towards mid-on by Gurney, Leics are nearly out of the tournament now, their net run rate will be in a shambles, they will need to beat Ruhuna by a massive margin now to stand a chance
Trinidad & T vs LEICS, Qualifying Tournament Pool B at Hyderabad, Sep 20 2011 - Ball by Ball Commentary
T&T continue to add to their list of triumphs at Hyderabad. It wasn't quite a polished performance from them yesterday, needing Sherwin Ganga's big-hitting to save them in the chase. They were never in trouble today though, starting with the huge partnership between Simmons and Barath, and then with the superb opening spells by Rampaul and Badree, backed up by Sunil Narine.
Allan Alexander: "Leicestershire justifies the reason that the tournament includes a qualifying round this year."
Post-match presentation
Daren Ganga: "We weren't in a good position yesterday chasing a small total, today Barath and Simmons played really well. As a team we got to do the right thing over and over again, we need to keep ourselves motivated for every match, and try qualify for the semi-finals. I'm not too worried about the fifth bowling option going for plenty of runs."
Matthew Higgard:" We were chasing a a good total, and for that we needed a couple of partnerships but we didn't get it. It was poor execution from the batsmen. Our fingers crossed now and hope for rain (laughs) in the other game. "
Man of the Match is Adrian Barath: "I think yesterday was a bit unfortunate, it wasn't the manner in which you want to be dismissed. I had to really come back mentally and get over yesterday. I think both of us go out to bat, it's a matter of who's day it is, one of us play the anchor role."
That's all we have from this game, hop over to commentary for the day's second game to see whether Auckland can stay alive in the tournament. The toss for that game is at 7.30 pm.
