slower ball outside off, and he's gone for a needless wander, and Saha has run him out. Faulkner went for the big slog, missed, and took a few steps down the pitch, looking for the bye. Smith wasn't interested. Saha spotted it quickly and threw at the stumps and hit them direct, and Royals' unbeaten run has come to an end.
RR vs Kings XI, 18th match at Ahmedabad, IPL, Apr 21 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Match tied (Kings XI won the one-over eliminator)
12.10am That's it from all of us. It's been a match full of twists and turns, and we enjoyed bringing it to you immensely. Hope you enjoyed it as well, and make sure you're back for tomorrow's double-header. Until then, good night!
Shaun Marsh is the man of the match. "It was nice to get the win, the boys really worked hard last few days in training, gets us back in the competition now. Nice to get an opportunity, unfortunate Bails got injured, I was hitting the ball well, picked out certain areas of the ground, and it worked out tonight. I've never really batted in a Super Over before, was a little different, it was nice to put a decent total on the board, and Mitchell Johnson defended it brilliantly and Louis Saha [yes, I think he confused him with the former Manchester United striker] to get that run out at the end."
Virender Sehwag: "It's a great game, the way they started I thought they would cross 200, but our bowlers did really well to restrict them, and Shaun Marsh and David Miller, and then Axar Patel and Mitchell Johnson managed to tie it for us. Again it was Mitchell Johnson who took the responsibility, said I will bowl the Super Over."
Shane Watson says he's never played a Super Over before, and the bowlers conceded too many towards the end of Kings XI's innings, but it's a good learning experience for his side.
11.55pm What a win for Kings XI. They needed close to 14 an over in the last eight overs, and they somehow managed to tie it from there, and they definitely held their nerve far better in the Super Over.
sees him make room, follows him with the yorker, which he digs out into the covers.
sees him making room, goes for the yorker again, gets it horribly wrong. High full-toss on off stump, Smith flashes hard, and egdes it to the right of the keeper and it rockets away to the boundary
Smith comes out at number three.
bowled, off stump goes for a wander. Watson made room to carve through the off side, and Johnson simply slipped a fast yorker under his bat
Bailey has a few words for Sehwag before Kings XI take the field. It's Anureet to bowl, or is it Axar? Both are warming up. But I think it's going to be Johnson.
Yup. It is Johnson. Who will Royals send in, though? They're taking awfully long over this. It's Watson and Faulkner.
yorker now, on middle and leg. LBW appeal from the bowler, but it isn't given. It's leg byes, ricochets to the keeper, and they steal a run, look for the second, and Samson runs to the stumps and runs out Marsh. On replay, that lbw shout looked plumb in front of middle stump.
goes around the wicket now, bowls a slower ball wide outside off. Marsh reaches out to carve it through the off side, doesn't connect
low full-toss on off stump, and he smacks it and just stands there, no need to run. Clears his front leg and powers through the line to send it scudding away to the straight boundary, leaving long-off no chance even though it was only a few yards to his left
short ball, sits up on middle stump, and Marsh clears his front leg and wallops the pull to the square leg boundary
full-toss outside off, may have been over waist height, and Marsh stands tall and carves it away to the square cover boundary
full on off stump, Maxwell gives himself room to carve it over cover, doesn't get hold of it, bounces down in front of the sweeper.
full-toss on middle and leg, and he's lbw. Swivelled to pull and it smacked him flush on the thigh pad. Was on its way down when it struck him.
