And push them to foot of Division One
Kent scored at the expense of First Division rivals Derbyshire whom they beat by 8 wickets at the County Ground. David Fulton and Matthew Walker were instrumental in the visitors attaining the required 171 runs in the fifth over after tea which has enabled them to put Derbyshire at the foot of the table in
their place.

The tenth-wicket partnership of Tim Munton and Kasir Shah put on 78 runs together in the morning session to give Kent a target at which to aim on a pitch that was't helpful.
Furthermore Kent knew that Rahul Dravid would be handicapped by a dislocated
finger - a factor that did not come into play as the Indian star was not
needed to bat.
Fulton and Robert Key saw them off successfully with a half-century partnership which took them through the early pressure. Then, however, Key and Wells were out in quick succession. The careful Fulton reached his half-century in 175 minutes and then shared with Walker an unbroken 109 runs partnership in 41 overs which swept Kent to victory.
