Quite the pitch, quite the game. At least for Joburg Super Kings, who are now the only team to remain unbeaten in this edition so far. They have three games coming up stacked one on the other. There's PC vs MICT tomorrow, catch you for that. Thanks for joining in today. Take care.

Chad: "I know it's a batter's game but de Kock as POTM instead of Ferreira is a strange choice." Decided by the fans, is what was said. But yeah, agree with your choice

Faf du Plessis: Even last year, the wicket assisted spin. Pitch looked dry and spinners would be key. We felt 160 is the score we need to stay in the game. The two sixes from Gerald was huge. The spinners bowled attackingly and took wickets, that's what they do best. Ferreira's worked a lot on his bowling, hope he'll do it for the Proteas too. Coming here and winning is tough as DSG are a good outfit.

Keshav Maharaj: We left 15 too many out there. Quinny showed great courage, but we lost direction. It happens. Last two balls going for sixes we can't look too much into, but there are areas we need to improve. There was character within the team. We had glimpses today though

Quinton de Kock, POTM: Wicket just got slower, tackier as the innings progressed. I honestly thought I couldn't do it, it was too difficult but tried. I've done it but on much flatter wickets. I couldn't take on bowlers earlier because of the loss of wickets.

9:02pm: A very good game from JSK. One of those where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. As shown by the two late boundaries from Coetzee in the first innings, and by Tahir's catch to get Mulder, or Wiese's variation to get Breetzke... Every bowler picked up a wicket at least and there were a few 'bowler's wickets,' none better than Tahir's drifting full ball that beat King's defences. Shamsi to Woakes was a peach too. De Kock and Klaasen were the only two batters to make significant contributions for DSG with the bat, eight single-digit scores highlight the main issue they faced.

Coetzee to Naveen-ul-Haq, OUT

Skied... Wiese settles underneath at deep midwicket and holds on nicely. Tumbles but keeps the ball in his possession. Was a shortish ball at the stumps, the batter was just outside the crease and pulled it from around rib-height, so it won't be a no-ball for being the second bouncer of the over. Top edge finishes the game

Coetzee to Naveen-ul-Haq, no run

Wide on a length, tries to guide it to third. Misses

Coetzee to Naveen-ul-Haq, no run

Tries to upper cut the shortish ball over the slips. Misses

Coetzee to Noor Ahmad, 5 runs

Shortish outside off, bunted to the right of the keeper. Bairstow throws it at the non-striker's end, no one backing up properly. That's a bonus four. Coetzee literally tries to scrub hair out of his head using his fingers

Coetzee to Naveen-ul-Haq, 1 run

No bonus point for JSK now. Length just outside off, open-faced dab takes it to deep point

Coetzee to de Kock, OUT

Coetzee's slower one has QDK cloth it oh so bad, and JSK have this oh so much in the bag. 110ks back of length, angling away outside off. QDK went across, back foot outside off and front foot diagonally in front to try and open up the V. He wanted to belt it over mid-off, who was in, but the extra bounce and slowness had him hit it off the area just below the sticker. Chunked it right up

QDK had to take the single and he does. Goes across well outside off to punch the length ball, angling away, towards cover

145ks but Noor gets it to the deep fielder, behind the wicket

Down leg, goes past the flick. Wide. 37 off 20 needed

Pathirana to de Kock, 1 run

Wiese charges in from long-off, gets hands on it but can't hold on! He went with both hands, got set, but the fingers lost direction as they cranked back before trying to scoop up the ball. In the end, the ball fizzles onto the grass in front. Was a fullish ball that QDK tried to launch downtown, bat turned outwards on impact

Pathirana to de Kock, 1 wide

Wide yorker goes wrong. It lands just inside the return crease on the off side. Let go. They check if it's a no-ball

16.3
Pathirana to de Kock, no run

Appeal for caught behind. Not given. Pathirana says he heard something. YJB has a word with the skip, and Faf reviews. Was a slinging three-quarter-length ball, seam pointing towards backward point, that went away with the angle. Close to the off-side tramline, QDK tried to flay it square. Got beaten

16.2
Pathirana to de Kock, no run

Beats him! Pretty much the same ball, QDK decides to stand still and looks to smack it over cover. Misses

Wow, that is reverse-sweep-flicked over slip and it is oh so sexy! Not a bad ball - fullish outside off, the shot seemed pre-meditated

Subrayen's parents, in the stadium, are deflated. Shaun Pollock on comms, even more so.

Wiese to Subrayen, 1 run, OUT

They risk a second, full-length dive. Keeper collects the ball above and plonks it down onto the stumps. Uh oh, Subrayen's actually planted the bat inside the crease instead of sliding it. The gloves are hitting the stumps a frame before the toe edge met the ground. Both batters look about in sadness as it's given out, Was a back of length ball just outside off that was guided with an open-faced bat, off the back foot, towards deep third.
