full on the pads, worked backward of square to get Australia home

AUS Women won by 5 wickets (with 4 balls remaining)

Australia win by five wickets and take the T20I series 2-1, also earning a 4-2 lead in the multiformat series. South Africa fought hard but little moments cost them. Beth Mooney was magnificent in the chase and Ash Gardner found her touch with the bat to see it home. It's been a very competitive series. Will be interesting to see how South Africa go in the other two formats
Beth Mooney is player of the match: "Didn't get off to a great start at 4am. Spent the next six or seven hours very unwell. Not until about 3 o'clock did I think I was playing. I was no good most of the day, but once I stepped on the field by competitive instincts came out. [Was about] being really clear in my plans. Thankfully it came off tonight."
Laura Wolvaardt "Would have loved to get over the line today. Felt we batted very well, got to a decent total, recovered really nicely. Kappy was exceptional. Looked like she was batting on road. Left 10-15 out there. Bit hard to defend. Really nice having an extended tour and hopefully those games can be as competitive
Alyssa Healy "We got the win, that's the most important thing. Ash and Grace did a great job to get us over the line. Feels like [Beth] does it all the time. We just wanted to be a little better in every area. Was a beautiful batting wicket, tidied up a few areas. We made a couple of changes, want to keep things fresh and keep evolving. Looking forward to the one-day format."
I'll wrap things up there for tonight. A good T20 series. We now moved into the ODIs with the first game on Saturday. Before that, the men's ODI series between Australia and West Indies starts on Friday. We'll be back for all that. For now, from Gnasher, it's goodbye.
on the stumps, scooped down to fine leg to level the scores
So it's just two needed off the last. Australia will get the job done. They've managed this chase very well
driven firmly back past the bowler, Kapp can't get a hand on it and long on can't get across. That's almost the game
angled away from off stump into backward point, another cutter from Kapp
full toss at the stumps, sweetly clipped through square, a fumble makes the second comfortable
a slower ball outside off, square drives and finds cover, but they get an overthrow
full at off stump, heaved down the ground to long-on
full at off stump, angled into backward point
Kapp for her last: 13 needed off 12
full outside off, driven firmly back to the bowler who palms it away
Amazing effort from Mooney. What a resilient player she is.
taken at backward point! Advancing down the pitch, drives with an open face and it's a simple catch. But it's probably come too late
brilliant! Great batting from Mooney. Full outside leg stump and she scoops it down to fine leg
a big full toss, heaved out to deep square leg...could have been a lot more than a single
wide outside leg, Mooney moves the same way, plays it down the ground
full on the pads, clipped to deep midwicket, Mooney makes the second. What an effort this has been
Feels like that over cracked things open. 22 needed off 18. Khaka returns
back of a length, drives into the off side
a yorker outside off, Gardner steps across and plays down to long on
and again! Real power in that. A bottom-handed swat through midwicket, a skimmer this time
Krypto: "Tyron 26 of 16 and 1 for 23 in 4. Highest SR with the bat and lowest Economy with the ball in the game so far. Excellent hand, take a bow."
and now she gets one! Full outside off, picks it up over the leg side, clears deep midwicket
gets into a tangle trying to scoop this, ends up by her feet, gets called through by Gardner
Aaron Gocs: "This is great work by Mooney"
full outside off, dragged off the bottom edge backward of square on the leg side
Back to de Klerk. 36 needed off 24
