full toss, smashed over mid on, again just clearing Harris's head, all over!
Queensland vs Victoria, Preliminary Final at Brisbane, Jan 21 2009 - Match Result
The Vics win and are through to the final and they qualify for the Twenty20 Champions League later this year.
112 never looked enough on this pitch, but after the Vics failed to chase down 128 on Saturday night, and they slumped to 3/6 tonight, there would've been some nerves in the Victorian dressing room.
But a matchwinning partnership between Hodge and Crossthwaite turned the game and the Vics cruised home with two overs to spare.
Perhaps some negative captaincy from Simpson taking Harris out of the attack early after taking two wickets, but realistically Hodge was the key to defeating the Vics and the Bulls coudn't get rid of him even after he injured his hamstring
Hodge has been named Man of the Match for his unbeaten 59 off 54 balls. It will be interesting to see whether he pulls up in time for Saturday night's final. Either way should be an exciting game if last Saturday's clash is anything to go by.
Thanks for joining me, Andrew Fuss for tonight's coverage, please do join us again on Saturday night for our coverage of the final, which will get underway at 7pm AEDT. Good night.
One more of them and it will be all over...
fullish, doesn't time it all that well but again gets enough of it to go over mid wicket
full on leg, goes over the top of mid on, just getting enough of it to clear Harris
low full toss again driven to long on
full toss, driven to mid wicket
length outside off, big pull shot over mid wicket
Blizzard is replaced by McDonald as runner
big inside edge into the pads, almost bowls him
driven to mid off
Hodge has called for his runner Blizzard to be replaced, looks to be stuffed!
takes that at the top of it's height, pushed to cover
low full toss, driven to long on
width outside off, cut down to third man
Here comes Ryno again...it's all or nothing now for the Bulls, there has to be an aggressive field set
driven through cover as Crossthwaite continues to play his intelligent and mature innings, certainly making up for Saturday night.
Looks like the Vics will cruise to victory here, unless they can make a breakthrough...it has to be Harris time.
low full toss driven to long off
full and driven to cover
driven back at the bowler
full and hammered through cover
pushed to mid off
cut to backward point who misfields poorly, perhaps getting a bad bounce to give him the benefit of the doubt. Either way that's four and that hurts the Bulls
driven through cover
