Kenya have dropped wicketkeeper Kennedy Otieno in their 15-member squad for the ICC Intercontinental Cup match against hosts Canada in Toronto from August 14-17 and the three ODIs to follow. The selectors have recalled right-arm seamer Alfred Luseno, who last played for Kenya in August 2008.
Otieno, Kenya's long-standing opening batsman, was left out despite scoring two half-centuries in his last five ODIs since April. He made 8 and 26 in Kenya's drawn Intercontinental Cup match against Ireland in Eglinton last month. Luseno has already played seven ODIs for his country.
The three ODIs against Canada will be played on August 19, 21 and 23 in Toronto.
Kenya squad: Maurice Ouma (capt & wk), Jimmy Kamande (vice-capt), Alex Obanda, Steve Tikolo, Collins Obuya, Thomas Odoyo, Nehemiah Odhiambo, Lameck Onyango, Peter Ongondo, Hiren Varaiya, Rakep Patel, Elijah Otieno, Seren Waters, David Obuya, Alfred Luseno
