Scotland have confirmed that the Pakistani allrounder Yasir Arafat will return as their overseas player for their third and final season in the National League.
Arafat enjoyed a successful season in 2004, taking 22 wickets and averaging 31.10 with the bat. He will play club cricket for Clydesdale, his fifth season with them.
"Yasir is exactly the kind of player we need," said Craig Wright, Scotland's captain. "I expect him to support our own established players as we prepare for the ICC Trophy."
Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya had been rumoured to be in discussions with Scotland, but the board decided to go with just one overseas player ahead of the ICC Trophy.
