Sri Lanka`s Aravinda De Silva may have had a poor run with the
bat in the Singer Champions` Torphy in Sharjah, but his early
season form this year sees him continue to top the Pepsi world
limited-overs cricket ratings for the season with 9756 points.
England`s Nick Knight is second with 9704 points, while Shahid
Afridi, Pakistan`s young all-rounder who recently scored the
world`s fatest one-day century, is third with 8252 points.
Mark Taylor of Australia and Mohammad Azharuddin of India lie
fourth and fifth.
It must be noted that the ratings do not include all Singer
Champions` Trophy scores - doubtless when these are added on,
Pakistan`s Saeed Anwar who scored two hundreds in the ongoing
tournament is certain to rise from his current position at number
nine.
England`s all-rounder Adam Hollioake meanwhile heads the
bowlers` list, with Allan Donald of South Africa ranking
second. Sri Lanka`s new left arm seamer, Sanjeeva D`Silva is
ranked third, with Anil Kumble of India and Saqlain Mushtaq of
Pakistan following him in the order.
