Lahore, June 8: Pakistan will host a ten-teams Asia Cup Under-17 cricket competition at different grounds of Sindh and Balochistan from July 15 to 25.
The contest will be organised on round robin league system.
The 10 teams have been divided into the following two pools:
Pool A: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kuwait, Maldives.
Pool B: Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia.
An invitation to India was sent but they have expressed their inability to send their team. India are the Under-19 and Under-17 World Cup winners.
The top team of Pool A will play the semi-final against the runner-up side of Pool B at the National Stadium in Karachi on July 23. On the same day, the top team of Pool B will measure its strength against the runner-up side of Pool B in the other semi-final at the United Bank Limited (UBL) Complex in Karachi.
The final will be played at the NSK on July 25.
Tournament schedule:
July 15: Pakistan vs Bangladesh at NSK; Nepal vs Kuwait at Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad (Pool A). Sri Lanka vs Singapore at UBL ground; Saudi Arabia vs UAE (Pool B).
July 16: Singapore vs Malaysia at AAS Stadium; Sri Lanka vs Saudi Arabia at Makli Stadium, Thatta (Pool B).
July 17: Pakistan vs Kuwait at Asghar Ali Shah (AAS) Stadium, Karachi; Maldives vs Nepal at Bugti Stadium, Quetta (Pool A). Sri Lanka vs UAE at NSK; Singapore vs Saudi Arabia at UBL ground (Pool B).
July 18: Saudi Arabia vs Malaysia at NSK; Singapore vs UAE at NBP ground (Pool B).
July 19: Maldives vs Kuwait at UBL ground; Bangladesh vs Nepal at AAS Stadium (Pool A). Sri Lanka vs Malysia at NBP ground (Pool B).
July 20: Pakistan vs Nepal at NSK; Bangladesh vs Maldivesat NBP ground (Pool A).
July 21: Kuwait vs Bangladesh at UBL ground; Pakistan vs Maldives at AAS Stadium (Pool A). Malysia vs UAE at BugtiStadium Quetta (Pool B).
July 23: Semi-finals
July 25: Final at NSK.
