Put in, Australia batted so slowly early in their innings that the later batsman were under considerable pressure to accelerate the run-rate. Wessels spent 25 overs making 47 and the consequence was four run-outs later, three by Lloyd, who hit the stumps to remove Border and O'Donnell and returned to the bowler to dismiss Rixon. As they had the day before, Richards and Lloyd shared a robust and decisive partnership for West Indies.
Man of the Match: C. H. Lloyd. Attendance: 22,012.
