Bangladesh v Pakistan

At Dhaka, March 16 (day/night)

15-Apr-2000
At Dhaka, March 16 (day/night). Pakistan won by 152 runs. Toss: Bangladesh. International debuts: Al-Shahriar Rokon, Manjural Islam.
Pakistan's middle order rampaged through the Bangladeshi attack: Saeed Anwar and Ijaz Ahmed smashed 85 in 11 overs, and later Inzamam-ul-Haq, who hit five fours and three sixes, and Moin Khan plundered 79 in eight. Bangladesh had no hope of attaining a target of 294, and were all out with nine overs left.
After some initial strikes by the pace bowlers, most of the Pakistani line-up had a go, with opening batsman Wajahatullah Wasti claiming three for 36 in his first one-day international. Bangladesh had some bad luck, though; captain Aminul Islam was run out when a drive by his partner, Akram Khan, was deflected on to his stumps off Shahid Afridi's fingertips, and Akram himself was given out caught when the ball seemed to come off his pads.
Man of the Match: Inzamam-ul-Haq.
