The long awaited Cricket Academy to be run by the Board of Control for
Cricket in India in Bangalore is slowly taking shape and everything
points to a formal start in May next year. Former BCCI president Raj
Singh Dungarpur is the chairman of the Special Committee which was
formed to go into various aspects of the academy.
The Special Committee, it is learnt, will adopt some of the salient
features of the South African Cricket Academy and the Australian
Cricket Academy, based in Adelaide. The Special Committee for the
academy met in Mumbai last week and took fresh stock of the progress
made on what has become the BCCI's pet project.
