Barbadian fast bowling great, Joel Big Bird Garner, will
manage the West Indies A team in their home series against
India A from November 10 to December 13.
Garner, a giant pacemen who represented the West Indies from
1977 to 1987, has also been manager for the A sides last
three trips to Sri Lanka, India and South Africa.
He is also a senior West Indies selector and will see after the
team as they play two Tests - in Trinidad and Guyana - and
three One-Dayers - one in Guyana and two in Grenada.
Allrounder Roger Harper, the former Guyana captain and West
Indies vice-captain, has again been appointed coach, while
Vincentian Alfred Bynoe and former West Indies vice-captain Gus
Logie are manager and coach, respectively, of the West Indies
Under-19 team to tour Sri Lanka for the Youth World Cup.
Of the 16 teams, there will bethe nine Test-playing nations
along with seven countries with associate status at the
International Cricket Council.
