The 19th Standard Chartered School Cricket Trophy at last clenched by the expected side, BKSP, when they trounced Manikganj Govt. High School by 44 runs in a low-scoring match today held in Sylhet stadium. Earlier in February, BKSP became the champion in the Dhaka Metropolis region defeating Scholastica in BNS ground. The strongest of all institutions in Bangladesh, BKSP has just hold the winning streak in today's final where their rivals seemed to be utterly yielding to the champion's might. BKSP batted first in an batting-adverse track and struggled hard to stay in the wicket where bowlers had all kinds of privileges. Only Rubaiyat (24) put some challenge to the bowlers and contrived to stay as long as possible. Ashiq made 17 and Dhim managed 12 to prop the score up to a fighting total of 117 all out in 37.2 overs.. Babu captured 3 for 16 to become the most successful bowler of his side; where Liton and Prince shared four wickets equally.
Which apparently looked as if a scrawny total, grew as a up-hill task for the Manikganj batsmen to reach in when they began to loose wickets in quick intervals becoming the feeble victims of the BKSP pacers. Except Jony who top-scored 24, nobody could get into double figure even. The bowlers were inhaling hostile air over the pitch and the district was wrapped up to only 74 in 34.4. The extras assisted well enough to help them touch their poor total. Nayeem, the renowned paceman of BKSP caused the havoc and picked up 5 for 12. Asif gave a good co-ordination taking 2 for 11.
