South African allrounder Justin Kemp has replaced the injured Sri Lankan seamer Thilan Thushara in the Chennai Super Kings squad for the Champions League Twenty20 tournament that begins on September 10.
Both players featured in Chennai's successful IPL 2010 campaign, but Kemp had been omitted from the initial Chennai squad for the Champions League. Thushara sustained a groin injury while turning out for Sri Lanka A in a tri-series match against South Africa A last week, prompting Chennai to call up Kemp as a replacement. The CLT20 technical committee confirmed the change today.
Chennai were earlier forced to leave out the injured Andrew Flintoff from their side and Kemp's inclusion will bolster the side's all-round strength. Chennai opens their campaign against Central Districts on September 11 at Kingsmead.
Squad: MS Dhoni (capt &wk), S Badrinath, M Vijay, Suresh Raina, R Ashwin, Shadab Jakati, A Srikkanth, L Balaji, Muttiah Muralitharan, Michael Hussey, Doug Bollinger, Justin Kemp, Albie Morkel, Matthew Hayden, Joginder Sharma.
