Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy appoints new assistant coach

The Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy (CBCA), a program of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), announced today that it had appointed a new assistant coach, former Tasmanian Tigers fitness advisor and pace bowling coach Troy Cooley.
Cooley, 35, will report directly to AIS Head Coach Rod Marsh, and takes over from former New South Wales pace bowler Richard Done, who has taken up a position with the Queensland Academy of Sport.
His role will involve supporting Marsh in the overall development of athletes and The Management of the AIS program.
Cooley comes to his new job having worked within Tasmanian cricket for the past three years filling roles as the state's junior development officer, fitness advisor, pace bowling coach and under-17 coach.
He played first-class cricket for the Tigers for ten years, from 1985 to 1995, has a Level III coaching certificate, a Level I qualification in strength and conditioning and also a Level I fitness leaders certificate.
Rod Marsh said: "Troy is an outstanding appointment and he will do an excellent job in continuing Richard's work, alongside myself, Australian Cricket Board Coach Wayne Phillips and Scholarship Coach David Fitzgerald.
"His experience not only as a cricket coach but also as a fitness advisor means he will be able to offer an excellent all-round grounding to the young players who attend the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy.
"I would also like to place on record my thanks to Richard Done for all his efforts alongside me. His work has been invaluable and we wish him all the best in his future career," Marsh added.
