Cowdrey taken ill

Lord Colin Cowdrey is recovering in hospital from a stroke which he suffered at his Sussex home. The short statement was issued on behalf of his family by Kent County Cricket Club, of which the 67 year-old Cowdrey is President and for whom he played for many years. Cowdrey, who also captained England, is undergoing tests in hospital where his condition is said to be comfortable.
