Day One of South Africa A and Rest washed out

The first day of the three-day match between South Africa A and Rest of South Africa at the University of Pretoria oval had to come to a halt without a single ball being bowled because of rain.

"It's frustrating not to play", said SA A mentor, Vincent Barnes and his assistant Mickey Arthur who is charge of the Rest of South Africa team. "The players were enthusiastic to have a run in the middle," they added. The teams spent the rest of the day in the gym.

Meanwhile, the schedule for the matches has been revised:

Wednesday 19-21 February: 3-day match Tukkies Oval

Sunday 23 & 24 February: one-day matches Pretoria Technikon

Wednesday 26 & 27 February: one day matches Tukkies Oval
