ECB confirm Mullally will miss winter one-day tour

The England and Wales Cricket Board can confirm that Alan Mullally has been ruled out of the one-day legs of the winter tours to Kenya and Pakistan due to a cracked rib. A decision as to his presence on the One-Day International leg of the Sri Lanka tour will be made during the winter.

David Graveney, Chairman of Selectors, said, "It is a long-term injury and rest is the only treatment. We must avoid, for all parties concerned, that Alan returns to action too quickly before adequate rest."

The replacement for Mullally in the One-Day International squad will be announced on Monday 18 September at the same time as the announcement of the England A Tour squad.
