England Under 19 lost by six wickets to Pakistan Under 19 in their final preliminary group match of the ICC Under 19 World Cup, but the team progresses to the Super League stage as runner-up in Group C.
Asked to bat first, England were bowled out for 182 in 48.1 overs. England captain, Nicky Peng, who made 59, and Lancashire all-rounder Kyle Hogg, who scored 40, were the main contributors to the total.
Pakistan reached the target of 183 with 5.2 overs to spare, Khaqan Arsal top-scoring with 62 runs. Yorkshire's Tim Bresnan took three of the four wickets to fall, while Kyle Hogg and Paul McMahon, with 22 and 28 runs coming from their 10 overs respectively, were the most economical bowlers.
The result means that, while England, Pakistan and Nepal finish the Group C matches with nine points each, Pakistan top the group and England come second on superior run rate. England therefore advance to the Super League stage where they will play, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa next week.
