England v Zimbabwe 1999-2000

Toss: Zimbabwe.

15-Apr-2001
Toss: Zimbabwe.
Ealham turned in the best figures by an England bowler in limited-overs internationals and helped his team to a victory as emphatic as their defeat at the hands of Olonga two days earlier had been humiliating. His five for 15 surpassed Vic Marks's five for 20 against New Zealand at Wellington in 1983-84, and made him only the ninth to 50 one-day wickets for England. All five were lbw, unparalleled in this form of the game, and all five were sent on their way by umpire Orchard. Zimbabwe collapsed from 71 for one to 98 for seven as Ealham seized five for eight in 24 balls before Streak and Rennie put on 62 in 21 overs. With Olonga seldom the force he was in Cape Town, Knight and Hussain shared their second century partnership of the tournament until Hussain was caught at long-off, aiming for a third six in his haste to improve England's net run-rate. Hick's dismissal for two took his tally against Zimbabwe in his last three innings to six runs.
