Hampshire Hawks open their ECB National League campaign at the Rose Bowl on Sunday against neighbours Sussex Sharks, followed by Middlesex Crusaders on Bank Holiday Monday, then the third round Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy game also against Sussex on Wednesday.
The opening match pits two Pakistan stars Wasim Akram and Mushtaq Mohammed against each other, an exiting prospect for the spectators.
Hampshire include James Hamblin in the squad for the one dayers in a pinch hitting roll. Hamblin has batted well this season in practise matches.
Hampshire squad for the three matches is: Derek Kenway, John Crawley (captain), Robin Smith, Simon Katich, Nic Pothas, Will Kendall, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Wasim Akram, Chris Tremlett, Alan Mullally, Shaun Udal, James Hamblin, Lawrence Prittipaul.
