ICC seeks new Global Development Manager

The International Cricket Council today launched its search for a Global Development Manager to replace Andrew Eade who returns to his native New Zealand as CEO of the Auckland Cricket Association next month

The International Cricket Council today launched its search for a Global Development Manager to replace Andrew Eade who returns to his native New Zealand as CEO of the Auckland Cricket Association next month.
ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed said that the role is an important part of the ICC's management team.
"This role is a terrific opportunity for the right person to join cricket's governing body and drive the global development of the game," said Mr Speed.
"The Development Program is going from strength to strength as the department strives to increase the quantity and quality of cricket participants in Associate and Affiliate Member countries."
The ICC runs several hundred courses for coaches and umpires each year and, in the last twelve months, some 45,000 participants have been attracted to grass roots activities and festivals around the world.
The program is currently run through regional development teams based in Europe, Asia, Africa, East Asia Pacific and the Americas. Each of these regions is headed by a Regional Development Manager. The ICC has committed to increasing playing numbers across the world by 30% between 2001 and 2005.
The successful applicant will be charged with running this global program with responsibility for planning, managing and ensuring delivery of all aspects of the program.
The ICC is seeking a person with proven management ability and extensive experience gained within Cricket Development or development within another sport. The person will need to demonstrate:
  • Leadership skills with the ability to develop a vision and strategic development plan and to work with all stakeholders
  • Cross cultural awareness and the ability to work with people from differing backgrounds across cultural and national identities
  • Excellent financial control skills; able to plan, forecast, manage and deliver your programs within your budget
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to market and promote the game of cricket
  • An ability to think and plan strategically, whilst maintaining a practical and pragmatic approach
  • Proven management and administrative skills which will be vital to the timely implementation of your programs
  • The energy and passion required to inspire others to perform
  • The personal drive and motivation which is essential as a self-starter
While based at the ICC offices at Lords Cricket Ground, London, the role will require extensive travel.
