The Bangladesh team left Christchurch on Saturday after the New Zealand tour was called off  •  AFP

It's been a sombre week for cricket. The Bangladesh team, in Christchurch for their third Test against New Zealand, escaped the horrific terror attacks on the mosques by a matter of minutes, even as they were on their way there for Friday prayers. ESPNcricinfo's Mohammad Isam was there, and we have first-hand accounts from him and the Bangaldesh team. Here's what went down last week.
'There's shooting here, please save us'
Mohammad Isam was at the Hagley Oval when a phone call from Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal brought him to the scene of New Zealand's worst-ever terror attack. A shaken Tamim spoke to Isam later about the events of that fateful Friday, while the Bangladesh team remained in shock. The NZC CEO has said that the board will review security arrangements for international teams in the aftermath of the attacks.

But the series loss, so close to the World Cup, hasn't daunted India either, Virat Kohli says.
