Pakistan squared the series after some resourceful batting from Moin Khan allowed them to reach 246 on a slow pitch. Given the speed at which they began -they were 117 for two after 18 overs - Pakistan would have hoped for more. But, at 130 for five in the 23rd, the balance had tilted towards India. Moin kept his head, though, and played an innings full of improvisation and confidence. By contrast, India got off to a sluggish start and never managed to increase the tempo. Salim Malik, bowling at the death, picked up four for 36.
