CBI intimates IT of Ajay Sharma's return
The Press Trust of India on Sunday reported that the Central Bureau of
Investigation (CBI) has informed the Income Tax (IT) department that former
India batsman Ajay Sharma would be returning to India during the second
week of September after completing his stint with a English local club.
According to the report, the news of Sharma's arrival was conveyed during
the CBI-IT officials' meeting on August 8 which helped
finalise a joint course of action regarding the match fixing scandal.
The two member CBI team which was in England last month had met Ajay
Sharma and questioned him.
New Zealand Academy team for Buchi Babu tourney arrives
The fourteen member New Zealand Cricket Academy team, who have been
invited to participate in the forthcoming MRF-Buchi Babu Invitation
Tournament, landed in Chennai on Monday. The NZCA XI will take on the
Districts XI in a pre-quarterfinal match from
August 20 to 22 at the Guru Nanak College ground. The team is led by
Jacob Oram. Sir Richard Hadlee is the manager while his brother Dayle
Hadlee is the coach.
