Karachi, Aug 1: Former captain Intikhab Alam has been removed from the panel of International Cricket Council (ICC) match referees.
He has been replaced by Talat Ali. Col Naushad Ali is the other nominee from Pakistan on the ICC panel.
Ironically, the PCB had released Intikhab has team manager during the mid-series against Sri Lanka at home arguing that the ICC chief executive David Richards wanted him as match referee.
Intikhab, who was the match referee when appointed coach in January for the one-day series in Australia, was deputized by David Richards as ICC match referee for the remaining three Tests between England and the West Indies.
The PCB, however, have retained Riazuddin and Mian Aslam as its nominees on the panel of ICC umpires.
