Lance Klusener takes up a new role this week as captain of the Dolphin in their SuperSport Series match against the Eagles at Durban. With the South African squad preparing in Pretoria for the tour of India, Klusener will take over from Hashim Amla.
Amla and Shaun Pollock are both in Pretoria with the national team, while last season's captain, Dale Benkenstein, has indicated that he is not interested in taking up the reins again. To add to Klusener's problems he will also be without Imraan Khan, who will be in Hong Kong for am international six-a-side tournament.
Klusener was considered unlucky not to have been included in the South African squad as he has been in good form this season, having scoring one hundred, and two fifties half-centuries and has taken 14 wickets in four matches.
Rivash Gobind, who has been in form in the amateur provinicial A competions, will come in for Khan while Jon Kent will stand in for Amla. Zahir Abrahim will replace Tyron Pillay. Pollock won't need a replacement as he did not play last weekend due to a slight back strain.
Dolphins (probable) 1 Doug Watson, 2 Rivash Gobind, 3 Ahmed Amla, 4 Jon Kent, 5 Dale Benkenstein, 6 Lance Klusener (capt), 7 Duncan Brown (wk), 8 Russel Symcox, 9 Andrew Tweedie, 10 Zahir Abrahim, 11 Mfuneko Ngam.
