Darren Lehmann has been reprimanded for comments he made following the ING Cup final on February 26. South Australia lost by one wicket against New South Wales and Lehmann was angry about the early start, claiming it had a major influence on the outcome.
He criticised ING, the outgoing sponsors, saying: "A 9.30am start, I don't know how many times you have to say it. Thank God we might be changing sponsors. That might allow us to play at different times."
Lehmann was found guilty of detrimental public comment under rule nine of Cricket Australia's playing conditions. However, the South Australia Cricket Association said he did not incur any financial penalty for the incident.
Lehmann told AAP on Thursday he was very happy with the hearing. "I think I have thoughts on cricket that are hopefully valid," he said, "and I think if someone asks me a question I'm always going to answer it honestly."
