2005-06 HKCA Saturday League
LSW Warriors returned to the top of the 2005-06 HKCA Saturday League Points Table despite losing to former leaders HKU by 67 runs at the Sandy Bay ground. Munir Dar claimed his second five-wicket haul of the competition but his efforts were in vain as HKU made merry against the LSW attack. Khalid Qureshi smashed 73 runs whilst Phil Glenwright contributed 56 runs as HKU were dismissed for 226. LSW could only muster 159 in reply with Bruce Abernathy claiming three wickets.
Saracens edged closer to the competition leaders with a 56 run victory over MCC St George's at Kowloon Cricket Club. Saracens made good use of the easy batting conditions as they amassed 281-7 off their 35 overs with Amjad Mehmood and Yogesh Mahtani scoring half centuries. Mehmood completed a good day's work by grabbing three wickets as St George's were restricted to 225-8 in reply. Former Hong Kong spin bowler Yarman Vachha claimed four wickets for Saracens whilst Maqbool scored 60 for St George's.
Another former Hong Kong spin bowler Bharat Gohel was in action at PTS where Tartars defeated Police by 76 runs. Hong Kong hockey captain Farooq Saeed top-scored with 87 not out as Tartars knocked up an impressive 254-5 off their 35 overs. Mustafa Ghulam and TR Kalyanaraman also made good contributions with the bat. The Police reply was lead by Ian Childs who top-scored with 66 whilst Umesh Bhasin and Bharat Gohel claimed four and three wickets respectively.
The closest result of the round occurerd at Mission Road where Witherers conquered Kai Tak by 14 runs. Mark Fuzes top-scored with 59 for Witherers as they were dismissed for 206, with Miller claiming four wickets and Mohsin Naqvi claiming three. Naqvi lead the Kai Tak reply with a half century but Kai Tak fell short of their victory target, as Mark Fuzes claimed three wickets for the HKCC team.
There was a blow-out at Po Kong Village Road where Lamma took on the 8-man Mainlanders team. Rizwan Sattar showed the young Mainlanders bowlers no mercy as he smashed the day's highest individual score of 92 in a total of 256-6. Mohsin Khan claimed three wickets for the Mainlanders team. In reply, the Mainlanders batting crumbled to Tony Pontikos who claimed the day's best figures of 5-12 as the Mainlanders capitulated to 48 all out.
2005-06 HKCA Sunday League
There were no Sunday League matches played as Hong Kong hosted their second match against the touring Indian Airlines team at Kowloon Cricket Club.

The KCC Maidens beat the HKCC Cavaliers at Po Kong Village Road. Further details are currently unavailable.
