The Pakistan "A" will leave for Sri Lanka on 10th June 2001. There they will play 3 four day and 3 one day games. They will return home on 5th July 2001. Then team will have Mudassar Nazar and Manager-Cum Coach, Dr. Riaz will be the physio. Julien Fountain engaged by the PCB, will join the team and continue with his 3 month stint as a fielding coach.
The Pakistan "A" mostly comprises of players nominated for the national Cricket Academy. Two of the nominated players could not join the Academy on account of their playing commitments. The tour to Sri Lanka has been scheduled in a manner so as to be part of Academy training. It will constitute the 2nd of the three broad training teams of the Academy. On return from Sri Lanka the boys will have a short break before resuming their Academy work, lasting till 25 August 2001. The name of the selected players for Sri Lanka are as follows: -
