At Chittagong, December 6, 2011 (day/night). Third one-day international: Pakistan won by 58 runs. Pakistan 177 (46.1 overs) (Misbah-ul-Haq 47, Umar Akmal 57; Abdur Razzak 3-21, Mahmudullah 3-4); Bangladesh 119 (38 overs) (Mahmudullah 35; Mohammad Hafeez 3-27, Shoaib Malik 3-6). MoM: Umar Akmal. Man of the Series: Umar Akmal.
Bangladesh had the chance to end their 12-year losing streak against Pakistan after bundling them out for 177; the last six wickets added only 44. Tamim Iqbal fell to the first ball of the reply, but Bangladesh were coasting at 61-1 after 15 overs when the floodlights failed. After an interruption, the spinners proved almost unplayable and nine wickets tumbled for 50 as Pakistan completed a 3-0 clean sweep. Mushfiqur Rahim lamented that the blackout broke his side's momentum; Misbah-ul-Haq agreed. The 439 balls bowled by spinners in this match was the second-highest in any one-day international, after 456 in a Sri Lanka-Zimbabwe game in Colombo in 1998.
